The Irish parish of Effin has been blacklisted by Facebook for having too offensive a name. Though there have been numerous efforts to get Facebook to reconsider, they have thus far, refused.

Obviously, this is just a simple case of their software intervening in the very interaction between people that they profess is Facebook’s mission. And I’ll bet the fact that the efforts to overturn this ban has yet to be recognized and properly honored by Facebook means that no actual human there has taken a look at the problem yet…which in and of itself is a problem.
